La Piazza at Okada Manila: What to Expect, What to Eat, and What It’s Like

Upscale Italian without the snobbery

La Piazza isn’t your typical spaghetti-and-meatballs spot. Located inside Okada Manila, this sleek Italian restaurant is known for refined pasta, wood-fired pizzas, and well-grilled steaks—with a bonus: a view of the Fountain Show if you time it right.

What Makes It Different

  • Two sides, two moods
There’s a laid-back Trattoria for drinks and starters, and a more elegant Ristorante for full-course meals. Start with wine and antipasti, then shift over for mains.
  • Wine is serious business here
They have a full-time sommelier and one of the most extensive wine collections inside any Manila hotel. Ask for a pairing—you’ll likely get a perfect match for your pasta or steak.
  • It’s not just pasta and pizza
While the handmade noodles and blistered crusts are a draw, La Piazza also grills high-end meats (think T-bones and lamb racks) and serves polished seafood plates and risottos.

Recommended Dishes

1. Carrè di Agnello (₱3,800)
New Zealand lamb rack—tender, flavorful, perfectly pink. Shareable, but no one’s stopping you from keeping it all.

2. Capesante e Funghi (₱820)
Seared scallops and mushrooms in a buttery sauce. Rich, earthy, and comforting.

3. Costata con Osso – T-Bone (₱9,500)
A 1-kg tomahawk steak grilled just right. Big flavor, zero gimmicks.

4. Carbonara (₱780)
No cream here. Just guanciale, egg yolk, pecorino, and handmade pasta.

5. Crudo Stracciatella Rucola Pizza (₱1,000)
Tomato, Parma ham, stracciatella cheese, and arugula on thin, crispy dough.

Pro Tips Before You Go

  • Go early for the fountain view
Book around 7 PM and request a table facing the Crystal Corridor.
  • Try both pizza styles
Napoletana = soft and airy. Romana = thin and crispy.
  • Dessert’s worth it
Try the chocolate praline mousse over the usual tiramisu.
