You’ve already enjoyed Japanese, Korean and Western food – but you’re still craving for something else. Have you ever thought about eating South African cuisine in the Philippines?

Meet ZAR South African Grill. Philippines’ first-ever South African Dining Experience located in Pasig, Metro Manila.

ZAR South African Grill is a new restaurant in the Philippines that offers authentic Southern African cuisine. The dishes are inspired by traditional recipes from different parts of Africa, with diverse flavors and ingredients.

ZAR‘s menu offers an East to West coast inspired menu with Shisa Nyama (grilled meals), bobotie, Durban curry, and traditional roasted pork. They also have a few local favorites such as the chicken liver peri peri, magwenya, and mince and a few sweet options including koeksister and milk tart.

Try out their Beef Burger and their Boerewors Sausage with Chakalaka sauce. This is best paired with their Traditional South African Shooter-Milk Tart Liqueur.

The owners hope to introduce more people to the South African flavors in the Philippines by making it accessible through food – one dish at a time!

If you’re looking for a little souvenir or takeout for your family, try their Peri-Peri Sauce and Fruit Chutney jars. These can also be purchased on their Shopee Page.

This one-of-a-kind South African dining experience can be found at Kaginhawaan Street Gate 5, Karangalan Village in Pasig, Metro Manila. They are open from 12:00 to 09:30 pm and it’s advisable to make reservations before visiting them!
