Say “Halloween plans” and someone in the group chat will inevitably reply, “Poblacion?”
For plenty of Metro Manila barkadas, this corner of Makati is the usual October pilgrimage: assemble the friends, negotiate the costume theme, and hope everyone commits to more than a black shirt. This year, Z Hostel’s Tabi Tabi Po gives that familiar night out a Filipino folklore twist. The spirits have apparently joined the planning committee.

Z Hostel
Located at 5660 Don Pedro Street, Poblacion, Makati, Z Hostel has been part of the neighborhood’s social scene for more than a decade. For a straightforward trip, use the hostel as your ride-hailing destination, leave room for traffic, and choose a meeting point with your friends before arriving. A costume is easier to coordinate than six people sending “Where are you?” at once.
Z Hostel opened around 2015, combining accommodation with the kind of social atmosphere that brings travelers and locals together. Its roofdeck became a familiar gathering place, while Z Street, launched in 2017, took the celebrations into the surrounding neighborhood. Halloween became part of that recurring calendar, alongside other community gatherings and street parties.
That history helps explain why Z keeps appearing in Poblacion plans. It offers a starting point for the night, whether you are meeting longtime friends or arriving with a costume elaborate enough to make introductions unnecessary.

For Tabi Tabi Po, the inspiration comes from Philippine folklore. Think of the stories that made you walk a little faster past a dark tree, then imagine turning one into your barkada’s costume theme. A White Lady entrance, an aswang-inspired transformation, or your own interpretation of a local legend could give the evening a more personal touch.
Z Hostel’s current listing places the celebration at Salakot at Z Hostel, with DJ sets, drinks at the bar, and a best-in-costume highlight. Gather your crew, give the makeup enough time to dry, and make dinner part of the plan before heading into the evening. The confirmed schedule and official event link are in the CG box below.

Planning note: Z Hostel’s current announcement lists THE ODY-Z street party separately on November 20, 2026, moved from October 30. Follow the Tabi Tabi Po details for the Halloween celebration featured here.

CG PHOTO CHECKLIST
Give your costume its camera moment
Use this checklist to picture your night and plan the shots you want to bring home. The photos in this feature are from 2025, so work with the decorations and spaces available when you visit.
- The full costume: Take a head-to-toe photo before leaving home, while every accessory is still accounted for.
- The folklore face: Find a well-lit spot for a close-up of your makeup, mask, or handmade details.
- The barkada reveal: Get one serious in-character pose, then one laughing shot. Let everyone’s costume fit inside the frame.
- The Poblacion setting: Include a recognizable venue sign or street detail in one photo to remember where the night happened.
- The moving memory: Record a short clip of your friends arriving or showing off their costumes. Ask fellow guests before making them part of your close-up.
Bring: A charged phone, power bank, and a small makeup touch-up kit. Comfortable footwear deserves a role in the costume, too.
