Some restaurants are designed to be seen from across the street. Pizzeria Maestro makes you work a little harder to find it.
Hidden on the second floor of Creekside Building near Little Tokyo, this compact Makati pizzeria combines Italian pizza-making with Japanese-inspired flavors. It may be small, but the fresh dough, unusual menu, and strong identity give it the potential to become one of Makati’s talked-about pizza spots.

Finding Pizzeria Maestro
The building’s exterior is unassuming, so you may briefly wonder if you have reached the right place.
Enter Creekside Building, head upstairs, and continue along the second-floor passage. Eventually, the small Pizzeria Maestro counter comes into view.
It feels more like discovering a neighborhood secret than arriving at a conventional restaurant.

Small Space, Fresh Pizza
The dine-in area is small, with only a few tables available. It is comfortable enough for two people or a small group, but it may fill quickly during busy hours.
Takeout is available, so you can still order even when the seating area is full.

One of the most reassuring details appears as soon as you enter. You can see the team preparing the dough on a flour-dusted work surface.
The white powder is flour, which prevents the dough from sticking while it is being shaped and stretched. Watching the process makes the pizza feel genuinely fresh instead of simply assembled from a frozen base.
The location may bring the hidden-gem appeal, but the freshly prepared dough gives Pizzeria Maestro its real potential.
The dough is promising. It gives the specialty toppings a proper foundation and keeps the Japanese-inspired flavors from feeling like mere gimmicks.

Yes, Kathryn Bernardo Has Visited
Pizzeria Maestro received extra attention after it shared Kathryn Bernardo’s visit on Facebook on August 23, 2026.

What We Ordered
We chose a half-and-half pizza with:
- Mortadella with Crunchy Pistachio
- Beef Sukiyaki
The half-and-half option is ideal for first-time customers because the menu contains several unusual flavors that may be difficult to choose between.

Beef Sukiyaki: The Bestseller Was Not for Me
Beef Sukiyaki is one of Pizzeria Maestro’s popular flavors. It combines tender beef and caramelized onions with the familiar sweet and savory character of Japanese sukiyaki.
Personally, it was not to my taste.
I do not normally enjoy sweet flavors in savory dishes, and the caramelized sweetness became too dominant for me. However, diners who enjoy teriyaki, sukiyaki, and other sweet-savory Japanese sauces may appreciate this side much more.
It is not necessarily a bad flavor. It simply depends on how much sweetness you want on your pizza.
Mortadella with Crunchy Pistachio Was the Winner
The Mortadella with Crunchy Pistachio was the standout of our order.
Mortadella provides a silky, mildly salty cured-pork flavor, while the crushed pistachios add roasted nuttiness and a satisfying crunch. The melted cheese rounds out the saltiness, and the warm dough carries everything without distracting from the toppings.
It is rich and savory, but it feels more balanced than the Beef Sukiyaki for someone who does not enjoy sweet pizza.
This is the flavor we would confidently order again.

Go Straight for the 12-Inch Pizza
We highly recommend choosing the 12-inch pizza when the difference from the smaller size remains modest.
A 12-inch pizza contains approximately 44% more surface area than a 10-inch pizza. That makes the larger size a much better value when the additional cost is relatively small.
It is also the better size for sharing or exploring two flavors through the half-and-half option.
The Story Behind Pizzeria Maestro
Public information about the owner remains brief. However, the official Pizzeria Maestro website identifies Shimizu-san as the person who set out to combine the best of Japanese and Italian flavors.
That concept is visible throughout the menu. Traditional choices sit beside Tuna Corn, Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Sukiyaki, Unagi, and other Japanese-influenced creations.
With consistent quality, stronger visibility, and continued word of mouth, this small pizzeria could eventually sit alongside Makati’s better-known Italian and Japanese-inspired pizza destinations.
September Only: Takoyaki Pizza
Pizzeria Maestro’s Flavor of the Month is the Takoyaki Pizza, made with real octopus and savory takoyaki sauce.
Authentic Japanese and Italian Artisan Pizza Crafted With Passion
From classic favorites to innovative creations, they craft pizzas that invite guests to explore new and exciting flavors.
It was not part of our order, so this is not yet a taste review. Still, it may be one of the clearest examples of the restaurant’s Japanese-Italian identity.
The Takoyaki Pizza is available from September 1 to 30, 2026.

Order a 12-Inch Half-and-Half Pizza
Try two flavors without ordering two separate pizzas. Our combination was Mortadella with Crunchy Pistachio and Beef Sukiyaki.
Choose wisely: Pair two flavors with similar prices to get better value, or combine one familiar choice with one adventurous flavor.
Our recommendation: Choose the 12-inch size. It provides approximately 44% more pizza area than a 10-inch pizza.
